SparkleCopy Privacy Policy 1.0 / 2026-10-20 How the current development preview accesses the clipboard, stores local data, and uses optional system permissions. 1. Scope and maintainers SparkleCopy is a macOS clipboard utility from Sparkle, maintained by 唐梓耀 / AdrianSparkle and 丁铭 / EliasSparkle. This policy describes the current app’s actual behavior. The website, Apple services, and other services you choose have separate processing scopes. 2. Clipboard and file access Recording starts off. After you enable it and macOS allows access, the app reads supported text, links, images, and file references when the clipboard changes, for local history, categories, search, previews, and copying. The current polling interval is 0.7 seconds; capturing every rapid change is not guaranteed. macOS 15.4 and later require ongoing clipboard access to be allowed for continuous recording. Items marked sensitive or transient are skipped, but unmarked private information cannot all be identified. This is not a password-filtering guarantee. File entries store references and read-only security-scoped bookmarks without copying or deleting originals. Later access still depends on file location and system permissions. 3. Local storage and removal The library is stored locally in the app’s Application Support/SparkleCopy/library.json and includes history, snippets, favorites, groups, and preferences. Images may be embedded, with an 8 MB item limit and a 64 MB JSON library limit. The current library uses JSON without app-managed library encryption. Disk encryption, backups, and system diagnostics are governed by macOS and your settings. Ordinary history defaults to 200 items and 30 days, with count and age limits applied on the next capture. Favorites and snippets are retained during ordinary-history cleanup. Clearing ordinary history removes neither originals nor favorites or snippets, which are managed separately. Pausing recording does not erase existing content. 4. Optional permissions and controls Clipboard access depends on system permission. Optional global double-press Command or Option shortcuts may need Input Monitoring solely for modifier states and shortcut triggering. Ordinary combination shortcuts do not depend on it. The app does not use this feature to record typed text and does not use Accessibility to type or paste automatically. Login startup is managed by macOS. Menu bar visibility, shortcuts, recording sound, recording, and retention are your choices. Pause recording, manage permissions in System Settings, or quit to stop the app. 5. Network, external services, and contact The current app has no account, telemetry, advertising SDK, cloud sync, or in-app automatic updater and does not automatically upload the library or clipboard. When you open a website, paste into another app, or send support email, the recipient processes information under its own rules. Website hosting may receive IP addresses, requests, and browser information; local app processing does not mean the website has no network records. Contact sparklebossletter@outlook.com with only the necessary version and issue details, after removing clipboard content, passwords, and private files. The document URL in the current app project is not configured yet; this website’s documents work independently. 6. Changes and limits This description is based on verified behavior and the current 1.0.0 development-preview source. Later versions that add recipients or processing capabilities should update it accordingly. The library is not a backup or password vault, and local storage is not an unconditional security guarantee. Use the support email above for privacy questions.
